- The Sunderbans
To have a taste of a dense mangrove forest, you must visit the Sunderbans in West Bengal. Famous for the Royal Bengal Tigers, Sunderbans is situated in the Ganga Brahmaputra Delta. The archipelago of 54 islands with Sundari (mangrove) trees, is a home to about 245 genera and 334 plant species. It shelters dangerous and endangered animals like the Royal Bengal tigers, crocodiles, deer, migratory birds, dolphins and much more. It is the deadliest and adventurous forest of India that can be explored through a boat ride.
- Kaziranga National Park
Famous for one horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga, is a part of the World Heritage List. Animals like elephants, leopards, wild buffalo, swamp deer etc. are also found here. It is considered as an Important Bird Area by Bird Life International for the conservation of avifaunal species. It shelters a variety of migratory birds, water birds, scavengers and predators and is situated on the banks of river Brahmaputra. You can explore this forest from November to June.
- Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park is in Madhya Pradesh, one of the tiger reserves of India consists of tigers, leopards, wild dogs, wild cats, foxes, jackals, etc and shelters 1000 species of flowering plants, sal trees and much more. The ideal time to visit is from November to June.
- Jim Corbet National Park
It is the oldest national park of India situated in Uttarakhand. If you are a bird lover or a tiger lover then this place will be a heaven for you. This forest is divided into six safari zones. The Brijani Safari Zone, The Jhirna Safari Zone, The Dhela Safari Zone, Durga Devi Zone, Dhikala Safari Zone and The Sitabani Buffer zone. It offers travelers a view of natural beauty, open grasslands, wealthy flora and fauna, hardcore wildlife and beautiful birds.
- Buxa Tiger Reserve
Located in the Alipurduar of West Bengal, Buxa is not only the home of tigers but it also shelters many other animals like Asian Elephant, Gaur, Wild Boar, Leopard, Sambar, Himalayan Goats, Black Panther, Civet Cats etc. One can experience the Buxa safari either by a car or a jeep. This forest has a lot to offer you.
